HMS MILFORD U51

Grimsby Class, 1944

Milford spent much of her career operating out of Freetown before and during the war. However, she returned to the UK late in WWII as the ship had been hard used and was becoming worn out. She is shown here in a camouflage of grey and blue-grey while serving in the north of Scotland attached to the Submarine School. Her aft gun has been replaced by a single 20mm AA giving her a total of five. There are Types 271 and 291 radar fitted.

HMS LOWESTOFT U59
